🎁 Santa’s Gift Sorting
Theme: Math — Duration: 15–20 minutes
You’ll Need
- Small toys, blocks, or pom-poms
- Small containers or paper cups
- Paper and crayons (optional)
Steps
- Place all the “gifts” in one pile.
- Ask your child to sort them by color, size, or type.
- Count how many items are in each group.
- Compare the groups.
Talk About It
- Invite your child to decide how to sort the items.
- There is no “correct” category — color, size, or type are all valid.
- Let them count aloud, even if numbers are skipped or repeated. The goal is exposure, not accuracy.
- Ask: Which group has more? Which has fewer?
