🍁 Thanksgiving Discovery Mini Pack
Theme: Thanksgiving Fun & Early STEM Exploration — Duration: 15–25 minutes
You’ll Need
- Small pumpkins and leaves for water testing
- Paper turkey & round stickers for “buttons”
- Plastic spoons, tape, small box or cup, cranberries or pom-poms
- Coloured feathers or paper scraps & glue
Experiments
- Pumpkin Sink or Float: Place small pumpkins and leaves in water. Sink or float?
- Button Bunny Turkey : Place sticker “buttons” on a paper turkey. Press a button → a funny action happens (gobble, flap, dance).
- Cranberry Catapult: Tape a spoon onto a small box to make a simple catapult. Launch cranberries or pom-poms and measure how far they go.
- Turkey Feather Color Sorting: Sort colourful feathers and glue them onto the turkey.
Talk About It
- Why do some objects float while others sink?
- What happened when you pressed a “button”?
- What made the cranberries fly farther?
- What colours did you sort? Which had the most feathers?
Reflection
- Ask: “Which activity did you like the most?” or “What would you change next time?”
